Dunaire Stud

Welcome to our updated website! We would like to introduce you to our small selection of breeding mares and their progeny. We are concentrating purely, at present, on large section D cobs who continue to have the ability to go well in all spheres. Many clients who have purchased our cobs are delighted with their horse’s abilities to learn specific aspects of defined horsemanship such as show jumping, eventing, dressage and driving. Our cobs prove to be excellent riding horses and enjoy varied careers.

Dunaire Welsh Cobs are horses brought up to be ‘people orientated’. They are brought up with respect, kindness and discipline which we find to be the three key ingredients to a level-headed adult. Our stallion, Dunaire Swift Flyer, lives with his mares 365 days of the year. He is ridden regularly throughout the Winter and into the Spring and then runs out with his girls. We keep Swift and the mares in open housing throughout the Winter when he enjoys being made a fuss of. This is the reason why we do not show him throughout the Summer, he has his job to do and he does it well!!

Visiting mares are accepted well into the herd each Spring/Summer and run with our own mares and foals. Visiting mares are usually reluctant to leave us as it is such a natural environment for breeding. Swift invariably passes on his kind, calm nature to his progeny, and we couldn’t ask for a more trustworthy stallion standing at stud. Our stud fee for 2009 will be £150 and grass keep is £2 per day. In this day of litigation, we must stipulate that, whilst every precaution is taken to ensure no harm comes to either human nor animal, we accept no responsibility should an accident arise.
